Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS), in collaboration with Cisco Systems, has demonstrated the ability to rapidly, safely, and securely exchange healthcare information in a virtual - or cloud - computing environment (see also Public Health).
At a recent demonstration during the Public Health Information Network Conference in Atlanta, the companies showed that security and privacy of web-based health information remains protected with a service as data is encrypted in transit and stored securely in the cloud. The demonstration was implemented over the CONNECT health information exchange platform with a Cisco Systems AXP router.
