Hooters presented the V Foundation for Cancer Research a check for $250,000 bringing the total amount raised for the Kelly Jo Dowd Breast Cancer Research Grant to $1 Million. The grant was established in the name of former Hooters Girl, manager and calendar cover girl, Kelly Jo Dowd, who spent the last 5 years of her life educating Hooters employees on early detection and breast cancer awareness while battling the disease (see also Breast Cancer).
