According to recent research published in the Journal of Optoelectronics and Advanced Materials, "The essential oils and extracts from leaves and fruits of Foeniculum vulgare from Kashan area was investigated for its chemical composition by nano scale injection, antioxidant activities by DPPH and beta-carotene-linoleic acid assays, and total phenolic content by Folin-Ciocalteu reagent and gallic acid as standard. The essential oils obtained by hydrodistillation, were analyzed by GC and GUMS."
