SARATOGA SPRINGS -- He's opposed every past expansion of the Saratoga Race Course meet, but on Wednesday, Charles Wait mostly welcomed the news that the New York Racing Association had expanded racing in the city to 40 days from 36.
"I've always worried about a tipping point and the ambience eroding, but the popularity of Saratoga seems to be indomitable," said Wait, president of the Adirondack Trust Co. and a former NYRA board member.
