With the winter heating season on the horizon, advertisements have been touting the benefits of bioheat, a blend of fuel oil and non-petroleum fuel made from animal fat or vegetable sources.
And with the state mandating that fuel oil and diesel fuel sold in the state contain 2 percent biofuel as of July, some of the state's fuel oil dealers are enthusiastically embracing the move, which they say will lessen the state's dependence on foreign oil and release fewer pollutants into the air.
