Owning a property is no longer as desirable as it was prior to the recession, according to the National Association of Estate Agents.
Research by the NAEA has revealed more than one in four adults in some British cities no longer wish to own their own home.
The recession, coupled with high house prices and a lack of mortgage lending mean that across swathes of British cities, thousands of adults have given up on property ownership, according to the association.
In Cardiff, 30 per cent of adults no longer wish to own property, compared with 27.7 per cent in Manchester, and 25 per cent in both Brighton and Belfast.
