Freudenberg-NOK G.P., traditionally an automotive supplier, has no interest in de-emphasizing its commitment to that troubled market.
But the Detroit-area company has shown in recent years it wants to use its expertise in seal and vibration control technology to find success in other growing markets.
Automotive remains the firm's largest core market, though with the recession's strong negative effect on the industry, revenues have decreased, said Mohsen Sohi, president and CEO of the company, a joint venture of Germany's Freud-enberg and Co. and Japan's NOK Corp.
