The rubber end of Myers Industries Inc.'s diversified business will shrink considerably by November if the firm's plans to sell two subsidiaries to a Chinese company receive approval from regulatory agencies.

Myers, a manufacturer and distributor of a variety of rubber and plastic goods, said Sept. 22 it has entered into a non-binding letter of intent to sell virtually all of the assets of its Buckhorn Rubber Products Inc. and Michigan Rubber Products Inc. subsidiaries to China's Zhongding Sealing Parts Co. Ltd.

Included in the deal will be all land, plants, machinery, brands, technology and the customer base, according to ...
