Tire dealers and distributors that have been selling Chinese-made consumer tires can expect double-digit price increases and spot shortages, following the implementation of tariffs on such imports.
That's the word from the tire retailers and manufacturers, since President Obama on Sept. 11 ordered higher tariffs on Chinese-made passenger and light truck tires. However, it doesn't look like supplies of such tires will disappear overnight, since many suppliers said they intend to keep shipping them, although at higher prices
