Jul. 17--Stepping up its campaign to enter the long-distance market, Pacific Bell has listed 10 local business groups it says have asked the California Public Utilities Commission to give it the green light.
Recent developments indicate a yellow light might be more appropriate:
-- The list failed also to include the largest local business group, the Greater San Diego Chamber of Commerce. The chamber said Wednesday it has taken no position on Pacific Bell's request and is still studying the matter.
