Through the early weeks of the college football season, something strange happened: The Pac-10 Conference, where East Coast bias is part of the bylaws, stole a plurality of the big headlines.
OK, so a lot of it was for the wrong reasons: LeGarrette Blount on, then off, then on again; USC, which collared Ohio State in the season's big early game but then got bushwhacked at Washington; and California, which climbed to No. 6 but then misread which were actually the bye weeks.
All the while, it was relatively quiet in precincts like the Big 12, where Oklahoma's Sam Bradford got hurt and ...
