Police: Burglary suspects flashed cash
KOTZEBUE, Alaska, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- A group of local residents who burglarized the store in a small Alaskan village made the mistake of showing off their cash close to home, police say.
Alaska State Troopers arrested 10 people this week in Selawik, the Anchorage Daily News reported. Selawik is a village of about 850 people at the mouth of the Selawik River in northwest Alaska.
The break-in occurred Friday night, police said, with the burglars doing about $500 in damage and making off with a large sum in cash. By Sunday, investigators had some good leads to follow.
