Oct 11, 2009 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian dollar reached a 14-month high in the week ended 9 October 2009, as it rallied above the $US0.90 level. The stronger currency will be a boon to retailers, while their customers will also benefit from the lower cost of imported goods. However, companies that derive a significant part of their revenue from overseas will be hard hit by the rising currency.
