events planned to promote anti-violence

The Saturday Academy for Positive Self-Development and music promoter Corey Scott will launch "No More Bullets," an anti-violence campaign, at 7 p.m. Friday with its opening kickoff at Flames of Fire Church of Divine Deliverance, 1478 Kempsville Road, Norfolk.

The campaign's inaugural events, co-hosted by Portsmouth Department of Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services, will continue from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday with a public rally at the Neighborhood Facility Recreation Center, 900 Elm Ave., Portsmouth.

Radio talk show host Deja of Deja's View, from 103 Jamz 102.9 FM, will broadcast live from the event. ...
