THE FAI can expect a e7million November windfall if the Republic of Ireland are drawn to play France in the World Cup play-offs next month.
The 1998 winners knocked Ireland out of the running for the finals in 2006 and are one of four likely teams Ireland could face when the draw is made in Zurich next Monday.
While fees for TV rights are not at the same level as two years ago when Germany came to Dublin, French companies would still pay a hefty price for the rights for a World Cup play-off.
Ireland's other likely opponents, Portugal, Russia and Greece, would generate far less cash in terms of TV revenue.
