John Dunleavy, who served CalCPA and the CalCPA Education Foundation for 27 years, passed away Aug. 5. He leaves behind him a long and distinguished legacy of service to the CPA profession. "I, and many others, would not have become active in CalCPA if not for John," says Marc Parkinson, CPA, managing partner of Petrinovich Pugh & Company LLP and 2006 07 CalCPA chair. "He challenged me to take on a leadership role at the Education Foundation and CalCPA, and taught me a great deal about what it takes to make an organization successful.
