Oct 12, 2009 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Industry groups have called fro changes to the 457 business visa program in response to an expected increase in demand for skilled labour. United Group CEO, Richard Leupen, said businesses had reduced training opportunities in response to the global financial crisis, and would not be able to cope with the economic recovery. The Australian Petroleum & Exploration Association said skilled migrants would be needed to complete projects, including the Gorgon LNG development.
