BayWa AG, the agricultural products and building-materials producer that joined Frankfurt s M-DAX index in September, plans to make its first solar-energy acquisition this year to boost its new renewable-energy unit.
We will make at least one acquisition this year, Chief Executive Officer Klaus Josef Lutz said in a telephone interview today. Two companies with combined sales between 220 million euros ($325 million) and 250 million euros are under consideration, he said.
Neither of the companies is a production or research company, Lutz said. He declined to provide additional details.
