Article: Romania: Coca Cola HBC opens co-generation plant in Romania.

Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company (HBC) announced today (Weds) the opening of a heat and electricity plant in Ploiesti in southern Romania.

The firm said it was the first of 15 such co-generation plants to be built at the company's bottling facilities in other European countries and Africa.

Coca-Cola HBC also opened a new storage facility in Ploiesti. Investment in both the co-generation plant and the storage facility has been 45 million Euros.

The plant in Ploiesti uses clean natural-gas to generate electricity and captures the heat emanating from the generator to provide additional energy used in the bottling plant.
