Meydan Group, a Dubai-based developer, has completed the prequalification process for awarding the infrastructure development contract for the second phase of Meydan City, said a senior official yesterday.
With the construction work on the first phase, which involves the building of the Dh4.6 billion grandstand and the racecourse, almost 90 per cent complete the facility is gearing up towards hosting its first race on January 28 next year.
Mohammed Abdulla Al Hathboor, Project Development Manager at Meydan, told Emirates Business the remaining work, including commissioning and testing, should be ready by the end of December.
