Export-Import Bank of China is in talks about funding for Eurasian Natural Resources Corp., the Kazakh ferroalloys and iron ore producer seeking $876 million to expand a chrome smelter and upgrade an aluminum plant.
ENRC asked the state-controlled National Wellbeing Fund Samruk-Kazyna, which oversees Kazakhstan s 12 percent stake in the metals company, to help it find investment. The fund is in discussions with Export-Import Bank of China on behalf of ENRC, Aidan Karibzhanov, Samruk-Kazyna s managing director, said in an interview in the capital Astana.
