E.ON UK expects to delay an investment decision on its controversial Kingsnorth coal-fired power plant in Britain for up to three years because of lower electricity demand, the company said on Wednesday.
Britain's first coal fired plant in decades has been the focus of environmental protest in the UK since it was proposed, while E.ON has long been waiting for government funding to test new technology to trap climate-warming gases from the plant.
The government is not expected to announce which plants will get funding for the expensive carbon capture and storage (CCS) technolgy until next year and E.ON has decided to focus on more advanced projects in ...
