Line 3 of Mexico valley's suburban rail system will begin operations in 2011, the transport and communications ministry (SCT) reported in a release.
The new line - budgeted at 14bn pesos (US$1.06bn) - will run from Chalco to Nezahualcoyotl at speeds of up to 130km/h, the release said.
The tender process for the concession to build and operate line 3 is already underway, with proposals scheduled to be presented in December.
