Trade volumes between Uganda and France have risen to $176m in 2008 up from $65m in 2003.
Of this, fish constitutes the leading export from Uganda to France at $50m, while coffee, tea and tobacco fetched $20m in exports in 2008.
According to information from the French customs authority, pharmaceutical products constitute the leading imports into Uganda from France at $53m (60% of total imports).
This is followed by electrical machinery ($23m). The 2008 Statistical abstract from the Uganda Bureau of Statistics indicate that in 2007, Uganda received French imports worth $99m. India was the leading importer to Uganda at $341m followed by China at ...
