NEW YORK, July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Gerling Global Reinsurance Corporation of Cologne, Germany (Gerling Global Re), one of the world's largest international reinsurers, announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Constitution Re Corporation and its subsidiaries. In addition, Gerling Global Re will acquire Rex Re, a Bermuda-based company. Constitution Re (CRC) is a leading professional reinsurer with a strong franchise of U.S. regional and specialty company clients and annual gross premium writings of more than $600 million. The transaction is expected to be completed later this year.
