- The country's foreign direct investments reached $1.2 billion in the first seven months to July, up 33.8 percent compared to what was reported the same period last year.

- Business damage caused by the two typhoons are estimated to have reached P5 billion but the business community does not see this a reason to bring the countrys economic growth to a negative.

- The Philippine peso dropped the most in two weeks on concern government spending to repair damage caused by flooding and landslides will slow economic growth and increase debt sales.
