Berkshire Partners, a Boston, Massachusetts-based buyout firm, has invested $125 million in United BioSource Corporation, acquiring an undisclosed stake in the life science data analysis company. Additional terms of the transaction were not released.
The Bethesda, Maryland-headquartered technology solutions company was launched six years ago by chief executive officer Ethan D. Leder and Mark P. Clein.
Berkshire Partners managing director Randy Peeler, in speaking with MergersUnleashed, said he is particularly excited about the company's focus on safety and efficacy, which he said is a growing field.
