Oct 13, 2009 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Australian sharemarket posted solid gains on 13 October 2009, with the S&P/ASX 200 rising 45.9 points to finish at 4,785.7. Rio Tinto rose $A0.89 to end the session at $A62.19 and the ANZ Bank was up $A0.43 at $A24.64.
