Initial fears aside, it appears that few people are really all that worried about a rift within the membership of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce that recently inspired manufacturing, timber and trucking members to form their own lobbying group called the Arkansas Manufacturer's Association.

That's the story, anyway, and both sides are sticking to it.

The chamber says it hasn't lost a single member due to the new group's formation and believes its status in the business community won't be diminished by the move. The AMA, meanwhile, claims it has no ill will for the chamber, only a desire to see its interests served in a more effective fashion.
