The Daily Herald requested to go over the paperwork that 40 local school districts filed in recent years seeking state construction help. In some cases, the requests were detailed; in others, they were vague and incomplete.
Below are summaries compiled after inspecting Illinois State Board of Education records. Keep in mind these are all old requests and in several cases, the districts went ahead and did the construction using local funds.
