INTERNATIONAL banking giant HSBC has warned the Irish courts of a "true disaster" if up to 60 lawsuits arising from the bankruptcy of $50bn ('34bn) fraudster Bernard Madoff are allowed to proceed at the same time.
HSBC Institutional Trust Services (Ireland) Ltd, known as HITE, held assets for Dublin-based funds under what is known as custodian services.
