PAPEETE, Oct 14 Asia Pulse - French Polynesia has expressed its interest to strengthen economic ties with Australia.
The issue was discussed during recent discussions between French Polynesias finance minister, Georges Puchon and Tamara Sommers, from the Australian consulate in New Caledonia.
Australia is a great potential market for Tahitian products, a finance ministry press release states.
Minister Puchon thinks a common market for the South Pacific such as PACER plus could help sell more Tahitian goods abroad.
He asked for information on tax exemptions in Australia for exports such as pearl or fish.
