Snider Tire Inc. is acquiring Consolidated Tires Inc. of Greenville, S.C., to strengthen its service offering in the Southeast and increase its retreading capacity.

Terms of the deal, scheduled to close by year-end, were undisclosed. Snider Tire will gain commercial/retail locations in Greenville, Spartanburg, Columbia and Harleyville, S.C., and Toccoa, Ga., along with a Michelin Retread Technologies (MRT) plant in Pelzer, S.C.

Consolidated Tires' annual sales are about $35 million, according to Will Dennis, the company's president.
