The City of Salisbury, Md., has filed an $18 million lawsuit against the engineering firm that designed its new municipal wastewater treatment plant, saying the facility does not function properly and does not meet state requirements for a water discharge permit.
Mayor James Ireton announced the lawsuit, filed Oct. 6 in the Circuit Court of Wicomico County, Md. The filing alleges breach of contract, professional misconduct and fraudulent misrepresentation against its engineering firm, O'Brien & Gere Engineers Inc. of Syracuse, N.Y.
