On a hot August day, dozens of shipyard workers huddled around a portable VIP tent at Quality Shipyards LLC to hear their boss, general manager Jody Badeaux, give them the good news that they had hoped they would hear.
"We are going to be building a third boat," Badeaux said. "We just got the word this morning."
There was an audible sigh of relief. They knew their jobs were safe for at least another two years. In the shipyard business lately, that's job security.
