TAMPA, Fla., July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Shells Seafood Restaurants, Inc. (Nasdaq: SHLL) today announced it has consummated its acquisition of three restaurant locations in the state of Illinois from Chi-Chi's, Inc. The acquired restaurants, which were the subject of previously reported negotiations with Chi-Chi's, are located in the suburban Chicago markets of Oakbrook Terrace and Streamwood and the central Illinois market of Bloomington. The Company plans to convert and reopen these properties as Shells restaurants in the fourth quarter of 1998.
