HALFMOON -- Nancy Bast, who cofounded the Halfmoon-based construction firm Bast Hatfield Inc. with her husband in the late 1970s, died Monday after a long illness. She was 65.
Bast Hatfield, which employs 200 people, has been one of the largest general contractors in the Capital Region and at its height brought in $100 million in annual revenue and employed 400. Major projects have ranged from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies in Troy, to the YMCA in Saratoga Springs and the Christmas Tree Shops at Colonie Center.
