WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 31, 1998--Servico, Inc. (NYSE: SER), a nationwide owner and operator of hotels, today announced an 83% increase in second quarter recurring net income and a 43% increase in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization ("EBITDA").

For the three months ended June 30, 1998, Servico reported recurring net income of $7.6 million, an 83% increase over the $4.1 million reported for the comparable 1997 period.
