Spain's Cepsa and Calgary-based Loon Energy have begun a seismic exploration program in northeastern Peru's Maranon basin.
The two firms are acquiring 390 km of 2-D seismic data in Peru's Block 127. Loon says the seismic work began in late September and be finished by November.
Loon says the companies will decide later, likely in the first quarter of 2010, whether to drill a test well in the block.
