(OTC BB: SGYP), a developer of new drugs to treat gastrointestinal disorders and diseases, announced that on October 6, 2009 the Board of Directors of Synergy Pharmaceuticals, Inc. appointed Alan F. Joslyn, Ph.D. as a director of the Company. In addition, the Board of Directors appointed Dr. Joslyn as Chairman of the Corporate Governance/Nominating Committee (see also Synergy Pharmaceuticals, Inc.).
