WASHINGTON _ As the Monica & Bill soap opera took another dramatic twist, a spontaneous one-liner by Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., caught the country's exasperated mood.
``Let's wrap this sucker up!'' he snapped.
To which most Americans, whether titillated or nauseated by the long-running sexual charade, would say: Amen.
At least President Clinton made a grudging move toward an eventual last act when he agreed to be grilled at the White House by Independent Counsel Ken Starr on Aug. 17.
