"The structural state of erythrocyte membranes collected from patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) was studied. The structural state was characterized by the degree of hemolysis and the content of malonic dialdehyde (MDA), as measures of the peroxide oxidation of lipids (POL), and by the microviscosity of the lipid bilayer," scientists in Russia report.
