Article: GE STEPS UP ITS INVESTMENTS IN CLEAN TECH.(Business)

NISKAYUNA -- General Electric Co. announced two new investments in clean technology companies Wednesday as it hosted a media forum highlighting venture capital investments in the fast-growing market.

GE Energy Financial Services, which has a $4 billion renewable energy portfolio, has partnered with several other venture capital firms on a $23 million investment in SolarEdge, an Israeli company that makes technology used in solar electric panels.

The same GE unit also revealed an investment in Tendril, a Boulder, Colo., company that makes "smart grid" interface devices for homes and electric utilities. The value wasn't disclosed.
