NEW DELHI, Oct 16 Asia Pulse - Indian state-owned NTPC (BSE:532555) is likely to float the Rs 250 billion (US$5.4 billion) global tender today for procuring power equipment for 11 units of 660 MW each.
"The tender for sourcing equipment for 11 supercritical units of 660 MW each is likely to be floated on October 16," power ministry sources said.
The 11 units include nine units of NTPC and two units of Damodar Valley Corporation. Supercritical units are environment friendly and improve the efficiency of thermal power projects. The 11 units are to be used in five power projects in the states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Jharkhand.
