Diagnostic Devices of Charlotte, N.C., has transferred production of its blood glucose monitoring system back to the United States from China. The company is relocating up to 200 jobs to Charlotte, N.C., after having operated its manufacturing operations in China for the past 18 years.
By implementing leading-edge automation and robotics manufacturing systems, the company was able to reduce costs by 40 percent. Moving its manufacturing back to the United States also allowed it to have better control of its intellectual property.
