Metatec, Technicolor parent make moves to strengthen optical replication positions.

Consolidation marked the optical media replication business in the month of June as two major deals were announced within a week. First, Metatec announced plans to purchase the assets of Imation's CD/DVD replication business. Carlton Communications, the UK-based parent company of Technicolor, followed a few days later with a $264 million bid for the outstanding shares of Nimbus CD International.
