Indiana hospital uses fingerprints to track patients
Someday 'Good morning, may I have your finger please?" might be a common greeting at hospitals or doctors offices.
Instead of relying on traditional identification bracelets, providers of the future might know their patients by fingerprints.
At 227-bed LaPorte (Ind.) Hospital, a slice of science fiction has turned into reality. In 1995 the hospital began using fingerprints to electronically identify its patients.
