Aug. 14--Calling a lawsuit filed by Pizza Hut a "public relations stunt," Papa John's International Inc. said it won't discontinue its TV and print ads that claim it has "better ingredients. Better pizza."
"Let me assure you the pizza wars won't be decided in the courtroom. The consumers will decide to choose Papa John's over Pizza Hut," Papa John's President John Schnatter said yesterday.
Dallas-based Pizza Hut has sued Papa John's, based in Louisville. Pizza Hut claims that Papa John's 2-year-old ads imply that Pizza Hut doesn't use fresh ingredients.
Pizza Hut is a division of Tricon Global Restaurants ...
