Is the titan of Trash TV about to take a fall? Is there any way he can still shock us? And what kind of guy would sell this sleaze to begin with?
Jerry Springer wants you to like him. You can feel it in the way he shakes your hand. The grip is firm, sincere. The eye contact is steady. Just to make sure, there's a little squeeze at the end. It's the handshake of a politician. Or, in his case, a former politician. He was, after all, once mayor of Cincinnati. And then there are the jokes. Jokes about his big nose: "In college, I worked as a sundial." Jokes about sex (or the lack of it): "I'm kind of sad because my wife just ran off with my best friend." Beat. "Yeah, ...
