Article: Sears and Florida A&M University Establish Innovative Business Information Technology Program

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Aug. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Sears, Roebuck and Co. and Florida A&M University today announced plans to establish the Business Information Technology (BIT) Program to prepare students for careers in information systems. The new program, slated to begin its first class of students in August 1998, will offer three levels of certification, after which graduates will be qualified for programmer and programmer trainee positions with Sears and other companies. The Program serves as a supplement to an undergraduate degree, providing students with advanced training that better qualifies them for positions in the IT field.
